Cat Thursday | Authors and Cats | Lorna Barrett / L.L. Bartlett / Lorraine Bartlett (July 10)

Welcome to Cat Thursday, y'all, written by me, Maxie!  (Jane helped a little.)

Cat Thursday is the weekly meme, hosted by Michelle at The True Book Addict, that celebrates the wonders and sometime hilarity of cats! Join us by posting a favorite LOL cat pic you may have come across, famous cat art or even share some pictures of your own beloved cat(s). It's all for the love of cats! Enjoy! (Share your post in the Mr. Linky on The True Book Addict.)

The second Cat Thursday of each month is Authors and Cats Thursday. Each time we will feature an author and his/her cat(s).

We're running a Three-for-One Special in July.
We are featuring one author of mystery, fantasy, and romance,
who writes under three names, as
Lorraine Bartlett, L.L. Bartlett, and Lorna Barrett.

The author and her Tuxedo cat, Fred

The immensely popular Booktown Mystery series is what put Lorna Barrett’s name on the New York Times Bestseller list, but it’s her talent -- whether writing as Lorna, or L.L. Bartlett, or Lorraine Bartlett -- that keeps her there. This multi-published, Agatha-nominated author pens the exciting Jeff Resnick Mysteries as well as the acclaimed Victoria Square Mystery series and the Tales of Telenia saga, and has many short stories and novellas to her name(s). Check out the descriptions and links to all her works, and sign up for her emailed newsletter here

Lorna is currently owned by three cats -- Betsy, Fred, and Chester. Betsy and Fred are rescues. Betsy will be 18 in October. Fred, the Tuxedo, is 11. Chester is all black. He'll be 17 later this summer. Lorna found Chester "used" in a pet shop. (He was 6 months old and had been returned when his owner couldn't take care of him. She got him on sale, too!)

Here are all three of Lorna's cats, sleeping under a 200 watt light bulb in her husband's office. Winter, spring, summer, fall, they sleep under that light bulb. (Lorna's worried ... incandescent bulbs are going away. What will the cats do when the bulbs are unavailable ???)

Betsy
Betsy likes to Hang out -- literally.  She likes to hang on a chair

or sit on your foot (and, light as she is, after a while she gets heavy). That's Lorna's husband's foot in the picture.
