The Review
I just read a really good book, y'all — Bloodline by Vicki Vass. Let me tell you a little about this paranormal cozy mystery.
Bloodline begins in Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, during the witch trials, as Terra Rowan is trying to elude the witch hunters. The chapter ends with Terra escaping, by drinking a potion that the leader of her coven gave her. The next chapter opens with Terra in Asheville, North Carolina in 2017. She is visiting The Leaf & Page, a shop of exotic teas and vintage books, as she has for the last ten years.
The details of how Terra got to Asheville, and how she's still alive 325 years later, are revealed bit by bit. I was so anxious to learn these details, and what happened next, that I had a hard time putting Bloodline down. I was also hooked by reading about Terra forming a new coven, so she can fight the gathering darkness, the Reckoning. The epilogue, especially the last sentence, left me eager to read the next book in the Witch Cat series.
In addition to the plot of Bloodline, I also find the characters and the setting appealing. The location appeals to me because the Asheville area is one of my favorite places to visit. I was able to picture the scenes as I read, because Author Vicki Vass has written about some actual Asheville places in Bloodline. (I have included some examples of these Asheville places from Bloodline in the next section.) The cast is comprised of quite distinct individuals, who display dynamic character development. The cats and dog are fun to read about, providing occasional comic relief to the suspense.

I recommend Bloodline to all fans of cozy mysteries and paranormal mysteries. I think it will have special appeal to readers who are fans of Author Vicki Vass's other books.
I really enjoyed Bloodline by Vicki Vass, and grant it Four Kitties!
