I am participating in a new meme this week.
Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop, hosted by Dani @Pen to Paper where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves. Here's how to join us:
- Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
- Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
- Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of Dani's post.
- Go to Pen to Paper for the rest of the details.

The book that I'm wishing for this week is:
Synopsis (from the author's website):
Anna Pigeon, a ranger for the U.S. Park Services, sets off on vacation—an autumn canoe trip in the to the Iron Range in upstate Minnesota. With Anna is her friend Heath, a paraplegic; Heath’s fifteen-year-old daughter, Elizabeth; Leah, a wealthy designer of outdoor equipment; and her daughter, Katie, who is thirteen. For Heath and Leah, this is a shakedown cruise to test a new cutting edge line of camping equipment. The equipment, designed by Leah, will make camping and canoeing more accessible to disabled outdoorsmen.
On their second night out, Anna goes off on her own for a solo evening float on the Fox River. When she comes back, she finds that four thugs, armed with rifles, pistols, and knives, have taken the two women and their teenaged daughters captive. With limited resources and no access to the outside world, Anna has only two days to rescue them before her friends are either killed or flown out of the country.
Why I'm wishing for this book:
Destroyer Angel is #18 in the Anna Pigeon series by Nevada Barr. The release date is April 1, 2014.
(From the publisher's website) National Park Ranger Anna Pigeon goes beyond the call of duty in this Agatha and Anthony Award-winning mystery series. She travels to National Parks around the country, solving mysteries in the wilderness and historic locales. Author Nevada Barr draws on her own experience as a former park ranger to craft these award-winning novels.
I am always thrilled to get a new Anna Pigeon book. This one is extra-thrilling, because of the return of two characters from Hard Truth: Heath Jarrod and Beth (or Elizabeth, now). Hard Truth is one of my favorite books in the series, and I look forward to getting reacquainted with Heath and Beth.
I just placed my order for Destroyer Angel on Amazon. It will be delivered on the release date, 4/1/14. I know what I'll be reading that week!
